Message Transformations
Summary
By default, INKY sanitizes your message’s HTML to remove potentially dangerous JavaScript and other dynamic content, and upgrades plain-text-only messages to HTML. Both settings provide an additional layer of safety and allow INKY’s banners to display in a clean, functional manner.
Settings
Sanitize HTML to remove potentially dangerous JavaScript and other dynamic content | ON/OFF |
Upgrade plain-text-only messages to HTML to enable more functional HTML banners | ON/OFF |
If not injecting a banner (based on settings below), do not modify message bodies in any other way; disable HTML sanitization, plain-text upgrading, link rewriting, and reporting links. | ON/OFF Note: This setting is only relevant if you choose to suppress certain banners under Customize Which Banners To Include. See below for more information about this setting. |
Exceptions
HTML Sanitization
INKY allows individual email addresses and entire domains to bypass the HTML sanitization process. You may add a CSV list or manually enter domains and email addresses to this list. Once saved, they will be alphabetically sorted.
This type of bypass is commonly used when a message is missing certain content or is malformed in some way.
Plain-Text Upgrade
Similar to HTML sanitization, individual email addresses and entire domains can bypass plain-text-only upgrades.
This type of bypass is commonly used when a particular recipient cannot receive messages in HTML.
