Trusted Third-Party Senders

Summary

If your organization uses third-party senders (such as SendGrid, MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, Constant Contact, etc.), to send messages on behalf of your users, INKY may detect these messages as internal-sender spoofing. This is due to your domain appearing in the From: field but “under-the-hood” the mail was sent from a third-party mail server. To avoid such warnings, you can tell INKY about third-party senders that are permitted to send mail on your behalf.

Setting

  1. Navigate to your INKY Dashboard

  2. Select Settings > Analysis

  3. You can add entires in the below schema:

    1. mydomain: otherdomain.com, anotherdomain.com;

For Trusted Third-Party Senders that aren’t spoofing your domain they can be added with following format, “example.com: example.com”, if a subdomain is being used “example.com: mail.example.com

For domains where SPF and/or DKIM pass, inbound mail will be treated as internal.

However, you may also add them manually from messages on an as-needed basis:

Remember to hit the “Save Changes” button after any changes to ensure they are captured.

The Trusted Third-Party Senders can also be used to remove banners from senders that are external. While this isn’t generally recommended it is an option available for those who want it.
