Routing

Summary

The routing tab under settings provides a summary of all the domains and their respective routes currently configured in your INKY account. Customers who use Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace have the ability to add domains to their account if the required API permissions have been granted.

Customers who utilize another secure email gateway (SEG) or MX provider can select their provider from the “Upstream Providersection at the bottom of the routing tab. Updating this helps INKY produce the most accurate results possible. If you use an upstream provider not listed here, contact your support representative.

Domain Configuration

All domains configured for your account will appear under the Domain Configuration section of the Routing tab.

Domain - The email domain registered within your email infrastructure.
Platform - The domain’s email infrastructure (Office 365, Google, or SH (SmartHost))
Inbound Next Hop - The destination where your inbound mail is sent after it’s processed by INKY.
Outbound Next Hop - The destination where your outbound mail is sent after it’s processed by INKY.
Cert-Based: Indicates whether your INKY configuration is using certificates. Only Microsoft 365 customers use certificate-based routing.

Add a Domain

Customers using Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace that have already granted domain and directory API access can select the option to “Check for Missing Domains” under Domain Configuration. Please see the API Access article below to enable this feature.

This option will query your Microsoft 365/Google Workspace tenant and provide you the option to add any domains that haven’t been added to INKY. We recommend adding all domains that exist in your tenant, regardless of whether or not they send or receive mail.

If you are not using Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, please reach out to support@inky.com to have your domains added. Please provide the following information:

Domain:
Inbound Next Hop:
Outbound Next Hop:

Configure a Upstream Provider

If your organization has another Security Email Gateway (SEG) such as Mimecast, Proofpoint, Cisco, or Ironport, please select the provider under the “Provider Type” drop-down.
