Per-User Allow & Blocklisting

Emails with multiple recipients may not display the authenticated actions since per-user allow or block listings would affect multiple users.

Summary

End-users have the capability to control which messages are being delivered to their inbox via enhanced reporting. With this feature, users can add a sender's email address or domain to their allow or block list and prevent future emails from being marked as spam content or neutral. Additionally, users can even automatically remove messages from their inbox directly from the Report This Email landing page.

Enhanced reporting is only available for customer using Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.

Users can view their current blocklist directly by navigating to their User Dashboard.

Enable Enhanced Reporting

To enable the per-user allow & blocklist, navigate to Settings > User Reports within your INKY Dashboard.

Allowlist

Check “If a user is authenticated, allow end-users to maintain a personal allow list for a limited set of threat categories” under Reporting Options.

Blocklist

Check “Allow end-users the option to authenticate on the Report This Email page to unlock enhanced reporting capabilities” under Reporting Options.

Remediation access must be granted under the API Access tab in order for users to have the option to remove a message they report as safe or phishing. See the article linked below for more information.

Adding Per-User Allow & Blocklist Entries

All INKY bannered messages will have a "Report This Email" link underneath the banner to the far right. Once you’ve found the email where you’d like to allow or block the sender, select “Report This Email.”

If you’re not already authenticated, you’ll be asked to sign in with your Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account.

Allowlist

If the reported message was classified as “Spam Content” or “Reported Spam” you can report the message as “Safe” to allow the sender’s email address or domain for either of these categories.

Blocklist

When you select “Spam” or “Phishing” as the correct label, additional block options will appear. You will have the option to block the sending address, the sending domain, or both. The “block” options will only appear if there is only one recipient in the email. At the bottom of “Authenticated Actions,” the user will have the ability to view their current blocklist settings.

“Remove this message from my email account” will be checked by default if remediation access has been granted. This default behavior will move the message to your trash as part of the reporting process.
