Summary

Default processing mode is found under the markup tab within settings. This setting is most commonly used by customers utilizing our Smart Host configuration. However, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace customers can utilize this setting as well. Default process mode has two configurable options:

  • Modify messages by default (opt-out)

  • Silent mode (opt-in)

Modify messages by default (opt-out) is the default setting and indicates messages processed by INKY will be modified to include a banner.

Silent mode (opt-in) prevents INKY from adding a banner to your messages, while still processing the mail and providing a detailed analysis in your INKY dashboard. This setting is commonly used by customers who want to see how INKY will treat their messages, without any noticeable impact on their mail flow.

Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace

Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace customers can use the silent mode option, or add users to the IPW-Group-Silent group within their mail tenant. The difference between these approaches is a granular approach versus an all-or-nothing approach.

If Modify messages by default (opt-out) is enabled, all users in the IPW-Group-Silent will still be processed in silent mode. Users in the IPW-Group will be processed normally and a banner will be applied to those users’ messages.

If Silent mode (opt-in) is enabled, all users in the IPW-Group & IPW-Group-Silent will be processed in silent mode.
